Anika Noni is an American actress and singer. The most famous role she has played is Tiana, Disney's first African American princess. Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in 2011. Rose played Lorrell Robinson in the Academy Award-winning movie Dreamgirls. Anika Rose was born the 6th of September on the 6th of September, 1971. She is an American actor and singer. Her most well-known role is that of Tiana the first Disney African American princess in The Princess and the Frog (2009). In 2011, she was honored as an official Disney Legend. She is also known for her starring role as Lorrell Robinson in the Oscar Award-winning film Dreamgirls (2006) and also for her role as LaVerne Jukebox Ganner on The Starz series Power. The stage performances she has performed are also well-known, including her role as Emmie Thbodeaux and as the character in Caroline or Change, a Broadway production of the musical Caroline or Change (2004) which won her an award for the Tony Award Best Featured actress in a Musical. The show also received her nomination to win her nomination for Tony Award Best Featured actor in a production of the Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun.
