Aurora
Aurora Aksnes born 15th June 1996 Stavanger is an Norwegian musician and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves has been released by Decca Records and was well welcomed by blogs about music. The singer has recorded two highly-profile cover songs Half the World Away by the group Oasis to promote a Christmas ad from John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Katy Perry, who endorsed the tune Runaway with her voice, has given the song a boost of recognition. It was her birthday celebration. Aurora Aksnes' first musical moment was when she stumbled across a miniature piano hidden in the basement, and becoming enthralled by the sounds it created. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes, and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to pursue music as a passion rather than a profession. She began to write writing her own songs. She acknowledges Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen as well as Bjork as being her influences. Her mom encouraged her to play her music publicly, not to gain fame but rather to help others realize how important they are and what they can do for the world. At age 6, she began to play the piano and at nine was writing music. The family members didn't know about it until she turned fourteen. The dream was never to turn into Aurora. Aurora claims she loves composing songs. She believes that music can help people feel more relaxed.
